I'm A Speedrunner 2 was the second tournament held within the SpyroSpeedruns community. This time around, the focus was on the Crash Bandicoot games. Much like IAS 1, the formula to how this tournament worked was slightly different to the formula that the future tournaments would adopt.
IAS 2 was the first tournament in which there would be four people in a Group with two participants moving forward to the second Round. In Round 2, however, competitors would not be randomly selected to face each other. It worked that if you came first in your particular Group you could only face people who came second in their Group, theoretically giving more meaning to coming first in the Group stages.
With StanScooby545 and Random8127 not doing their match, a one-off match between two competitors who had previously been knocked out of the tournament was organised, where the winner would qualify for the Grand Final. For some reason, this match was between CrashtoHedgehog and Mallqui123, despite both competitors being knocked out in the Group Stage. Mallqui123 won the match, but didn't take part in the Grand Final anyway. CrashtoHedgehog declined to take Mallqui123's place, as he didn't want to be in the Grand Final even though he'd lost most of his matches.
Chaosstar failed to show up to the Grand Final and the four competitors were made up of Semi Final winners CrashBandispyro12, LukeRf44 as well as semi finalists who failed to complete their races, Random8127 and Stanscooby545. Neither Random8127 or Stanscooby545 completed the objectives, with the latter not even having any video footage as his emulator crashed and video corrupted. For 10 years, Random8127 was arbitrarily given 3rd place despite never qualifying for the grand final or completing the goal, but this was changed in 2020 where Chaosstar was designated 3rd place, simply on the fact that he actually qualified for the final.
